Jigani is in Anekal taluk, on the southern outskirts of Bengaluru, and is best known for its industrial area. On a map the large, regular plots of the industrial estate stand out clearly, surrounded by the older village core, newer residential layouts and roads linking the town to the city and to Hosur.
Rapid growth has given Jigani a mixed and unfinished look from above. Planned grids of residential layouts sit next to irregular village lanes, open land and lakes typical of the Bengaluru plateau.
