Narsinghgarh is a town in the Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh, on the Malwa plateau. From above, its older streets gather close to a lake at the foot of a hill, with a fort and palace above the town. Beyond the settled area, the land opens into low hills, fields and scattered villages.
The town was once the seat of a princely state, and the fort, palace and temples from that period still shape its character.
