The map

About this Nyon map poster

Nyon sits on the northern shore of Lake Geneva, between Geneva and Lausanne. On a map, the town divides neatly in two: a compact old centre on a rise above the water, and a lower band of quays, harbour walls and lakeside paths. The shoreline runs as one smooth edge across the sheet, holding the whole composition in place.

The town began as a Roman colony, Colonia Julia Equestris, and Roman remains are still part of the centre. Above them stands the Château de Nyon, a white castle now used as a museum. Today the town is also known for the Paléo Festival held each summer, and as the home of UEFA's headquarters.

A Nyon map poster shows how tightly the old town and the lake belong together. Short, steep streets connect the upper core to the water, while newer neighbourhoods spread back from the shore toward the railway and the vineyards of La Côte. In black and white, the empty lake surface becomes a wide, calm field beside the dense historic streets.

01

Old town on a rise

The historic centre occupies raised ground above the lake, where a tight cluster of streets surrounds the castle and the remains of the Roman town beneath it.

02

Lake Geneva shoreline

The long northern shore of Lake Geneva forms one continuous edge, with the harbour and quays drawing small, precise shapes into the open water.

03

Roman foundations

Nyon was founded by the Romans as Colonia Julia Equestris, and the layout and ruins of that early town still sit at the heart of the modern centre.

Why Nyon

A map that means something

For people who studied, worked or spent summers on Lake Geneva, Nyon is an easy place to feel attached to. The map captures the town between lake and vineyards in one clean image that suits a hallway, a study or a gift.

Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name or a festival year, and choose one of five styles. Blueprint gives the lake a crisp technical feel, while Paper softens the old town and suits a warmer interior.
