The map
Paxtaobod is a town in the Andijan Region of eastern Uzbekistan, in the Fergana Valley. The name means roughly 'cotton town', a reminder of the crop that has long shaped the agriculture of the valley. The surrounding land is flat and intensively farmed, divided by a network of irrigation channels that bring water from the mountain rivers.
From above, the town appears as a grid of streets and courtyard houses that gradually merges into orchards and field plots. Straight canals and tree-lined roads run across the landscape, giving the whole area an ordered, almost geometric look that is typical of the Fergana Valley.
A Paxtaobod map poster brings out that geometry: the town's street pattern, the parallel lines of canals and the rectangular fields around them. In fine black linework it becomes a study in irrigation and settlement, where water and roads define almost every edge.
Channels cross the landscape in long, straight lines, distributing water to fields and orchards and forming the backbone of the map's structure.
Residential streets are lined with walled courtyard houses, producing small, regular blocks that fill the town between its main roads.
Around the town, fields and orchards form a patchwork of rectangular plots, characteristic of the densely farmed Fergana Valley.
