The map
Pontalina is a municipality in southern Goiás, in Brazil's central highlands. The town itself follows the regular grid common to interior Brazil: straight streets, square blocks and a central square where the church and main buildings stand. From above, it forms a neat rectangle of streets set against wide rural land, where cattle pastures and crops extend toward the horizon.
The surrounding landscape is cerrado, the tropical savanna of central Brazil, and thin lines of vegetation trace the streams that cross the area. Roads lead out toward larger towns in the region, with Goiânia a drive to the north. Agriculture and ranching shape both the economy and the appearance of the land around the town.
A Pontalina map poster shows this balance between order and openness. The compact grid sits clearly at the centre, while fields and watercourses surround it with softer, irregular lines. It is a restrained composition that suits a home office, a farmhouse kitchen or a family gift.
Pontalina's streets run in straight lines and meet at right angles, forming an even block pattern that reads crisply on a black-and-white print.
Near the middle of the grid, the main square and church form a small open space, a traditional anchor of towns in interior Goiás.
Around the town, small streams cut irregular paths through pasture and farmland, softening the frame with natural lines.
