The map

About this Porangatu map poster

Porangatu lies in the north of Goiás, in the high savanna landscape of the Brazilian cerrado. From above, the town has a regular grid of streets typical of the region's planned growth, with wide blocks and long avenues extending outward toward farmland and pasture.

The main influence on the map is the BR-153, the Belém–Brasília highway, one of the major north–south routes through central Brazil. It passes close to the town and gives Porangatu a role as a stop along a long corridor through the interior. Local roads branch off it into the surrounding countryside.

A Porangatu map poster shows the town's clear geometry set against a broad, open landscape. Around the grid, fields and cattle pasture spread across gentle terrain, crossed by streams and patches of native vegetation. It is a straightforward and orderly plan, well suited to a clean black and white print.
