About this Puqi map poster
Puqi is the main urban area of Chibi, a county-level city under Xianning in southern Hubei. On a map it shows a mix common across central China: a dense older centre, wide newer avenues and large residential compounds laid out in blocks, all fitted between low hills and patches of water. The Lushui River flows through the city.
The surrounding countryside is a patchwork of ponds, reservoirs, rice fields and wooded hills, typical of the lake-dotted lowlands along the middle Yangtze. Conventional and high-speed railways pass close by and add long straight lines to the irregular pattern of fields and villages. Newer districts are steadily filling the ground between them.
