The map
Qayroqqum lies in the Sughd region of northern Tajikistan, near the western end of the Kayrakkum Reservoir, a large body of water created on the Syr Darya in the Soviet period and sometimes called the Tajik Sea. On a map, the reservoir fills the view to the north, and the town sits on flat ground beside it, not far east of Khujand.
The town grew up as a planned Soviet settlement, and its streets show it: a fairly regular layout of straight roads and residential blocks, with industrial areas nearby. Qayroqqum is known for its carpet factory, which has long made rugs for markets across the region. A Qayroqqum map poster sets these orderly streets against the broad shoreline of the reservoir.
In 2016 the town was officially renamed Guliston, though the older name is still widely used, and the poster title can carry either one. Beyond the town, irrigated fields and canals stretch across the western edge of the Fergana Valley, adding fine lines that soften the geometric centre.
The reservoir on the Syr Darya spreads out north of the town. Its wide surface forms a large, calm shape on the map and a clear shoreline against the streets.
The town was built largely to a plan, with straight streets and regular blocks. That order makes it read almost like a technical drawing, especially in the Blueprint style.
Fields and irrigation channels surround the town. Their straight, narrow lines carry the geometry of the streets out into the countryside toward Khujand.

Why Qayroqqum
For those who spent summers by the reservoir or grew up in the town's apartment blocks, Qayroqqum has a character all its own. A map of it is a quiet way to hold on to that, wherever you now live.
Title it Qayroqqum, Kayrakkum or Guliston, add a subtitle and edit the coordinates line as you like. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. HD files are $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
