Clustered districts
Rather than one centre, the city is a set of built-up clusters that grew around separate coal workings, linked by roads and rail across open ground.

Hegang Map Poster & Print
Hegang sits in the far northeast of Heilongjiang, where the forested Lesser Khingan range gives way to farmland running toward the Songhua and Amur rivers. From above, the city does not form a single tidy core. Its districts grew around separate mining areas, so the map shows several clusters of streets joined by roads and rail lines, with open ground and low hills in between.
Coal shaped almost everything here. Mining began in the early twentieth century and the city grew with the pits, leaving behind straight rows of worker housing, rail spurs and the broad footprints of industrial sites. In recent years Hegang drew national attention for its unusually low apartment prices, a sign of a place adjusting as the mining economy changes and younger residents move away.
A Hegang map poster reduces all of this to line and space: dense patches of residential grid, thin threads of railway, and the softer contours of the surrounding hills. It is a portrait of a working northern city rather than a postcard one, and in black and white its scattered layout reads almost like a constellation.

Rail threads
Railway lines built to move coal run between the districts and out toward the wider Heilongjiang network, drawing long, thin lines across the poster.
Hills to the north
The upland edge of the Lesser Khingan range rises to the north and west, where the street network thins into irregular slopes and forest.

Zakaj Hegang
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Hegang is a place people tend to carry with them: families who worked the mines, students who left for bigger cities, anyone who remembers the winters there. A map of its streets keeps that memory in a form quiet enough to live with every day.
You can set your own title, a subtitle such as a family name or a year, and the coordinates line, then choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the HD files for $9 or order a printed poster.
