The map

About this Su-ngai Kolok map poster

Su-ngai Kolok lies in Narathiwat Province, in the far south of Thailand. The Kolok River runs along the town's edge and forms the border with Malaysia, with Rantau Panjang in Kelantan on the opposite bank. On the map the river is the defining line, and a bridge links the two countries across it.

The town is also a terminus of Thailand's southern railway line. The tracks run into town and end there, making Su-ngai Kolok the last stop before the border. From above, the plan is a compact grid of commercial streets near the station and the crossing, with residential areas and plantations further out.

A Su-ngai Kolok map poster shows a frontier town in clean, simple lines: the river, the bridge and the railway ending at the edge of the country. It is a clear image of a place defined by what lies just across the water.

The Kolok River

The river winds along the southern edge of the town and marks the border between Thailand and Malaysia. It is the most important line on the map.

02

Border bridge

A bridge crosses the river to Rantau Panjang. It is a short but significant link between two countries, visible as a single line over the water.

03

Railway terminus

The southern railway line enters town and ends there. The tracks form a strong straight line that stops close to the border.
