Čakovec Map Poster & Print
Čakovec is the main town of Međimurje, Croatia's northernmost county, a wedge of land between the Mura and Drava rivers near the borders with Slovenia and Hungary. The terrain is flat and fertile, and the town spreads evenly across it. At the centre, the map shows a clear, distinctive feature: a large park enclosing the old castle.
The castle, known as the Old Town of Čakovec, was the seat of the Zrinski family, one of Croatia's most important noble houses. Its walls, earthworks and the park around it form a large open area in the middle of town. The main square and pedestrian streets lie just beside it, with the rest of the town arranged around this green centre.
A Čakovec map poster brings the castle, the park and the surrounding streets into one balanced composition. Railway lines and main roads cross the town, and new districts extend toward the countryside. It is a map with a strong centre and a calm, orderly outer layer, well suited to a clean black-and-white print.
