Eboli stands in the province of Salerno, where the southern Apennine foothills meet the broad plain of the river Sele. On a map the historic centre sits high on its hill, a tight cluster of curving lanes, while newer districts spread downhill, the street pattern loosening and straightening as the ground flattens toward the plain.
Below the town, the land is divided into long, regular fields and farm roads that stretch toward the coast, giving an Eboli map poster two very different textures: the organic knot of the medieval centre above and the ruled geometry of reclaimed agricultural land below.
