The map
Una sits in the south of Bahia, in the region best known for cocoa farming and for what remains of the Atlantic Forest. The town is small and low-rise, with a modest street grid. What gives the map its character is everything around that grid. Rivers wind towards the sea, mangrove channels fork and rejoin, and a straight, open shoreline faces the Atlantic.
The municipality also includes the Una Biological Reserve, a protected area created mainly to safeguard the golden-headed lion tamarin, a small primate found only in this part of Bahia. On a street map the reserve shows up as an absence: a broad stretch with almost no roads, against the busier pattern of the town and the coast road.
A Una map poster is well suited to a coastal composition. The beach line runs clean down one side, water in the estuaries creates soft, irregular shapes, and the few streets sit in between them. The result is sparse and calm, closer to a nautical chart than a city plan.
A long, nearly straight line of beach runs along the coast, giving the poster a firm edge that contrasts with the meandering water inland.
Rivers reaching the sea split into narrow branches and mangrove-lined inlets, drawing loose, organic shapes across the lower-lying ground near town.
The Una Biological Reserve appears as a largely empty tract with few roads, a quiet reminder of the forest that still covers much of the area.

Why Una
Una appeals to people who value the southern Bahian coast for its forest and its long beaches, and to those who grew up there. As a map it looks restrained, mostly water and open space, which makes it easy to hang in a bright room.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps marking a trip or a family home. Choose from five styles, including Sand and Blueprint. You can download HD files for $9 or order a printed poster on matte paper, with or without a wooden frame.
