Te mapa
Agege lies on the Lagos mainland, north of Ikeja and near the international airport. The ground is flat and almost entirely built up. From above it is a thick, irregular mesh of small streets and compounds, broken by a few main roads and by the railway, which runs through the area on its way north out of Lagos.
The district is one of the most densely populated parts of metropolitan Lagos, with busy markets and a strong commercial street life. Its name is widely known in Nigeria through Agege bread, a soft, dense loaf that has become a standard Lagos breakfast.
An Agege map poster shows how tightly this part of Lagos is woven together. There are no large lakes or grand parks, only the texture of countless short streets, the straight cut of the railway and the arterial roads that tie the district to the rest of the city. It is a detailed, energetic image of everyday Lagos.
The rail line north from Lagos passes through Agege, forming one of the few long straight lines in an otherwise irregular street pattern.
Small lanes and closely spaced blocks cover almost all the land, producing a fine, even texture that reads well in print.
The district lies close to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport area, and major roads link it to Ikeja and the wider mainland.

Koteā ko Agege
For people raised in Agege or with family there, the district is home in its own right, not just part of Lagos. A map puts its streets at the centre instead of on the margin.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a street, a family name or a date, and keep or change the coordinates line. Pick from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
