Te mapa
Airdrie lies on the open Alberta prairie just north of Calgary, and from above it is a young, fast-growing city. The Queen Elizabeth II Highway runs north to south through the city and divides it into east and west. The original town is a small grid near the rail line, and around it newer neighbourhoods spread out in loops, crescents and cul-de-sacs.
Nose Creek winds through the city and adds a narrow green corridor of pathways and parks along its banks. Airdrie began as a railway stop on the line between Calgary and Edmonton and has grown into one of Alberta's larger cities while keeping close ties to Calgary.
An Airdrie map poster shows how planned suburban growth looks from above. The highway and rail line are strong straight strokes, the creek meanders between them, and the new districts form intricate curling patterns. At the edges the grid of rural roads continues into farmland, framing the city with the square-mile geometry of the prairie.

A winding creek with pathways and parks along its banks. It forms a soft green thread through the centre of the city.
New neighbourhoods spread out in loops and crescents. Their decorative street patterns contrast with the straight prairie roads around them.
