Te mapa
Ajdabiya lies in eastern Libya, a short distance inland from the Gulf of Sidra, on flat, open ground at the edge of the desert. It has long been a junction. The coastal road between Benghazi and the west passes through the town, and another road leads south toward the oases of the interior. On a map, those routes form the backbone of the town.
Between the main roads the town fills in with a grid of low blocks, loosely ordered and stretching outward wherever there is room to grow. Little water or relief interrupts the pattern. The map becomes a clear drawing of a town that gathers around its crossroads and then fades into empty land.
The site is old. Ruins from the Fatimid period, including a mosque and a fortified palace, survive in the town. They show how important it was on routes across North Africa a thousand years ago. An Ajdabiya map poster links that long history as a stopping place with the town's modern plan, drawn in simple lines.
The coastal highway and the southern road meet here and give the map its strongest lines. The rest of the town is arranged around them.
Beyond the last blocks the streets simply stop. The empty space around the town frames it sharply and makes the built area read as a single shape.
The neighbourhoods follow a broadly rectangular pattern with irregular edges. This gives a dense, even texture that holds up well at larger print sizes.

Koteā ko Ajdabiya
For Libyans at home or abroad, a map of Ajdabiya is a portrait of a familiar crossroads, the roads everyone passed through. It also appeals to anyone interested in desert towns and in how their plans respond to open land.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, such as a family name or a year, and pick from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand is a natural match for a town at the edge of the Sahara.
