Te mapa
Akure is the capital of Ondo State, set on an upland in the forest belt of southwest Nigeria. Granite inselbergs rise around the city, and on a map they appear as rounded gaps in the street network. The old town gathers around the palace of the Deji, the traditional ruler, while newer districts extend along the main roads in long, spreading arms.
The city grew quickly after becoming a state capital in 1976, adding government offices, markets and schools. It is home to the Federal University of Technology, whose campus forms a large, distinct area on the city's edge. To the southwest, the dramatic hills of Idanre, with their long stone stairway and hilltop settlements, form one of the best-known landscapes in the region.
An Akure map poster brings the city's shape into focus: the dense palace quarter, the roads leading toward Ondo, Owo and Ilesa, and the rock outcrops that interrupt the urban fabric. It makes a meaningful piece for people from Ondo State and for graduates who spent their university years here.
The palace of the Deji anchors the older part of the city, with the densest pattern of streets and markets gathered around it.
Granite hills rise within and around the city, appearing on the map as smooth, unbuilt shapes that break up the surrounding streets.
The Federal University of Technology occupies a broad campus at the city's edge, with its own looser network of roads, buildings and open ground.

Koteā ko Akure
For alumni, civil servants and families with roots in Ondo State, Akure is a city of important chapters. A map of its streets and hills marks those years with something quieter and more lasting than a souvenir.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a name, a graduation year or a family date, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose one of five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as $9 digital files or a printed poster.
