Te mapa
Algés is in the municipality of Oeiras, just west of Lisbon's Belém district, where the Tagus estuary opens toward the Atlantic. On a map, it looks like a continuation of the city along the river. A dense grid of streets climbs gently from the waterfront, and three parallel lines run along the shore: the Cascais railway, the coastal road and the promenade by the water.
The waterfront is wide and open. The Passeio Marítimo de Algés hosts large events and the NOS Alive music festival each summer. Inland, the streets rise toward the hills of Miraflores and Linda-a-Velha, and the grid loosens into a mix of apartment blocks, older villas and gardens. The Algés valley brings a gentle curve down to the river.
An Algés map poster shows where Lisbon meets the estuary: the shoreline, the rail line, the streets climbing the slope and, on a wider crop, the edge of Belém with the river continuing east. It suits residents who prefer their own neighbourhood to the classic Lisbon views, and anyone who knows the waterfront from a summer festival.
The shoreline along the wide estuary is the map's strongest edge. Beyond it lies open water toward the south bank and the Atlantic.
The Cascais railway, the coastal road and the promenade run side by side along the river, forming a band of straight parallel strokes.

Koteā ko Algés
Algés is where many Lisbon residents actually live, between the city and the sea. A map of it is personal without being obvious, and it suits a first flat or a family home.
You can add a street, a year or a line of your own to the title and subtitle, and pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 HD files let you print locally in any of six sizes.
