Te mapa
Anjār lies in the Kutch district of Gujarat, a short distance inland from the Gulf of Kutch and close to the port towns of Gandhidham and Kandla. It is one of the older towns in the region, and on a map its historic core appears as a denser cluster of streets, surrounded by broader roads and newer neighbourhoods on the flat, dry land around it.
Anjar was among the places worst affected by the 2001 Gujarat earthquake, which destroyed much of the old town. Large parts were rebuilt in the years that followed, and the map shows that layering: some older street lines survive, while reconstructed areas follow a more regular plan. The town is also known across Kutch for its traditional metal crafts.
An Anjār map poster presents the town as it stands today, old and new side by side on the Kutch plain. It is a meaningful piece for families from Anjar, many of whom lived through the rebuilding, and for anyone with ties to this part of Gujarat, wherever they now live.
The older part of town remains the densest area of the map, with narrower streets that contrast with the wider roads around it.
Neighbourhoods reconstructed after 2001 show a more regular layout, giving the map a clear, visible record of the town's recovery.
Main roads connect Anjar to Gandhidham, Kandla and Bhuj, and these long, straight lines tie the town into the wider Kutch landscape.

Koteā ko Anjār
For people from Anjar the town carries memories of before and after the earthquake, and a map is a respectful way to hold both. It shows the streets plainly, as they are now, and leaves the meaning to the person who hangs it.
