Te mapa
Aroor lies in the northern part of Kerala's Alappuzha district, just south of Kochi. The town sits on low land surrounded by the backwaters of the Vembanad Lake system, and on a map it appears as a narrow strip between wide channels. Water is everywhere: canals, lagoons and fishponds break up the land, and bridges link Aroor to the city to the north.
The town is one of Kerala's main centres for seafood processing and export. Many plants handle shrimp and other catch from the coast and backwaters, and the industry has shaped the local economy for decades. The National Highway runs through the town, and the bridges across the backwaters to Kumbalam and Kochi carry traffic between the city and southern Kerala.
An Aroor map poster shows a town defined by water. The highway makes a straight line through the middle, lined with dense streets, while the edges break into irregular shapes where land meets lagoon. The backwaters, fish farms and small islands give the map a varied, detailed outline, and the bridges draw clear crossings over the water.

The National Highway runs straight through Aroor, with most of the town's streets and businesses clustered along it.
Bridges carry the highway north across the backwaters, linking Aroor to Kumbalam and the city of Kochi.

For families from Aroor, many of whom work in the Gulf or elsewhere in India, the map keeps home and its backwaters close. It suits anyone who remembers the view from the bridges or the fishing boats on the lagoon.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a family name or special date. Choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the waterways especially well.
