Atsabe is in Ermera, the mountainous municipality in western Timor-Leste best known for growing coffee. The land here rises steeply, and settlements sit on ridges and slopes rather than on open plains. On the map, the town appears as a modest cluster of roads and buildings surrounded by a wide, sparsely marked landscape.
The road network is the most expressive part of the map. Routes curve tightly as they follow contours, tracing long loops around hillsides and connecting small hamlets scattered through the highlands.
