Bafang Map Poster & Print
Bafang lies in the West Region of Cameroon and is the main town of the Haut-Nkam department. From above it sits on uneven, hilly ground in the Bamileke highlands. The roads follow ridges and valleys rather than a grid, and the built-up area spreads outward in irregular fingers along the main routes.
The surrounding area is agricultural, with coffee long important in these highlands, alongside food crops grown on the slopes. Like other Bamileke towns, Bafang is also tied to traditional chiefdoms, which remain an important part of the region's social and cultural life.
