Te mapa
Ban Phan Don is a town in Udon Thani province in northeastern Thailand, on the broad, low Khorat Plateau. The land is nearly level, so the map is shaped less by terrain than by farming. Small roads run out from the centre toward surrounding villages, and field boundaries, ponds and canals divide the space between them.
The built area is modest. It's a cluster of streets and a market district along the main routes, and it fades quickly into countryside. In the wet season this landscape is dominated by rice, and even in monochrome the regular subdivision of the fields shows up as a fine, even texture.
A Ban Phan Don map poster is about scale and quiet. It doesn't show a grand plan or a skyline, just a town at the centre of its farmland, drawn with the same care as any capital. For people with roots in Isan, that plain honesty is often the point.
The fields around town break into small, regular parcels. In black and white they form a soft background pattern that frames the denser streets at the centre.
Local roads leave the town in several directions to link it with nearby villages, giving the map a loose star shape instead of a grid.
Ponds, small reservoirs and irrigation channels are scattered across the flat plateau and appear as crisp dark shapes against the pale ground.

Koteā ko Ban Phan Don
Many people from Udon Thani province live far from home, and a map of the town where they grew up can mean more than a photograph. It records the layout they walked and cycled, the roads to the family village.
The poster can be personalised with a title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps in Thai transliteration or with a family name, and printed in one of five styles, from Classic black & white to the warmer Sand.
