Te mapa
Barentsøya lies in eastern Svalbard, between Spitsbergen to the west and Edgeøya to the south, and is named after the Dutch navigator Willem Barentsz. It is roughly rounded in outline, with an interior covered largely by ice caps, from which glaciers flow toward the coast. Between the ice and the sea, bare slopes and gravel plains form a narrow margin of open land.
To the south, the narrow strait of Freemansundet separates Barentsøya from Edgeøya and is known for its strong tidal currents, while other slender sounds divide it from Spitsbergen to the west. There are no settlements or roads, only a few scattered huts, so the map is shaped entirely by coastline, ice and the surrounding channels.
The island lies within the Southeast Svalbard Nature Reserve, one of the strictly protected areas of the archipelago, and polar bears are regularly seen along its shores. A Barentsøya map poster renders its outline with the clarity of a nautical chart, the island held in place by the narrow waters that link it to its neighbours.
The narrow strait along the south coast separates Barentsøya from Edgeøya, a thin band of water that frames the island's southern edge on the print.
Ice covers much of the interior, leaving a broad blank centre on the map, with glaciers reaching down to the shore in several places.
Parts of Spitsbergen and Edgeøya appear around the edges of the frame, so Barentsøya reads as the keystone between two larger landmasses.

Koteā ko Barentsøya
Expedition cruise passengers who have landed on Barentsøya, and anyone fascinated by Svalbard, will recognise this map as a record of a place reached by very few. Its clean form suits minimal interiors and polar-themed collections alike.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for instance with the name of a ship or the date of a landing, and choose from five styles. Blueprint and Noir suit the Arctic setting especially well.
