Te mapa
Bayambang lies in central Pangasinan, in the lowlands drained by the Agno River. The river loops across the municipality, and its meanders and old channels are the most expressive lines on the map. They curve through a landscape that is otherwise level and mostly given over to rice and other crops.
The poblacion forms a compact grid near the town hall and church. The rest of the population is spread across many barangays connected by provincial roads. This gives the Bayambang map poster a clear centre, surrounded by a wide, airy field of small settlements, lanes and irrigation lines.
The town is known for a giant bamboo statue of its patron, Saint Vincent Ferrer, which set a world record as the tallest bamboo sculpture. Bayambang also has a place in Philippine history as a brief stop for Emilio Aguinaldo's revolutionary government in 1899, during the war with the United States.
The river swings through the municipality in wide bends. Its channels and floodplain draw the most dynamic shapes on the whole map.
The town centre holds a small, orderly grid around the church and municipal buildings. It is the densest part of the poster and its natural focus.
Provincial roads and farm lanes link dozens of barangays across the plain. Together they spread a light, even pattern of settlement over the farmland.
