Te mapa
Bekily lies in the Androy region of southern Madagascar, inland from the coast on higher ground where the land is dry and open for long stretches. On a map the town is modest: a handful of main streets meeting near its centre, lanes that thin out into scattered compounds, and roads that leave town in several directions across sparsely drawn countryside.
This part of the island is cattle country, and zebu herding shapes daily life and the rhythm of local markets. What the map shows is how light that landscape is. There are no dense grids here. Instead there are long single lines of road and track, occasional watercourses and large empty areas, so the settlement stands out as a small, concentrated cluster.
A Bekily map poster is less about intricate detail than about balance. The town sits on the paper as a compact mark, and the lines leading away from it carry the eye outward. That spareness gives the print a restful quality. It also records a place that rarely appears on printed maps at all.
The main roads meet near the middle of town, giving the plan a simple centre from which smaller streets and paths branch out towards the edges.
Several routes leave Bekily and run for long distances across open ground, drawn as thin, unbroken lines that anchor the town within its wider region.
Much of the surrounding area carries very little mapped detail, which leaves generous white space and makes the settlement itself read clearly at the centre.

Koteā ko Bekily
This print tends to matter to people with a personal tie to Androy: family who grew up there, aid and health workers who spent time in the south, or researchers who know the region well. Its sparse lines make a quiet, unusual piece for a wall.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with the year you were there, and keep the coordinates as a small reference line. Five styles are available, from Classic black and white to Sand, as HD digital files or as a printed poster on matte paper.
