Benevides sits on the eastern side of the Belém metropolitan area in Pará, where the city gives way to tropical forest and farmland. Seen from above, the town is organised around a main highway corridor. Blocks of low houses branch off it on both sides, and patches of woodland and winding streams push in between the built-up areas.
The street pattern tells the story of a place that grew step by step. A more regular core runs near the main road, and newer neighbourhoods spread outward in shorter, less planned grids. On a map the edges are soft. Streets thin out into tracks and then into open green space, which gives the drawing an unfinished, organic look.
