Te mapa
Cametá lies in the state of Pará, on the left bank of the lower Tocantins River, where the river widens on its way toward the Amazon estuary. On a map the town is a compact grid pressed against the water. Across from it, the Tocantins breaks into dozens of islands separated by narrow channels, and this landscape fills much of the view.
It is one of the oldest towns in the Amazon region, founded in the seventeenth century. Its riverfront has long been the centre of daily life, with boats connecting it to Belém and to communities along the river. Riverside families on the surrounding islands live from fishing and açaí.
A Cametá map poster is shaped as much by water as by streets. The regular blocks of the town, the long riverfront and the intricate web of islands balance land and river in one image. It suits anyone with roots in the lower Tocantins or an interest in Amazonian geography.
The town's edge follows the river in a long line. The street grid ends at the water, and the port connects Cametá to the wider region.
Across the Tocantins, a maze of islands and channels spreads over the map. It forms an intricate pattern of land and water that changes with the tides and seasons.
Behind the riverfront, the older streets form a tight, regular grid. Newer neighbourhoods extend inland along roads leading away from the water.

Koteā ko Cametá
People from Cametá, whether they now live in Belém, elsewhere in Brazil or abroad, often speak of the river first. A map of the town keeps that relationship between streets and water in view, a quiet link to home and family.
You can add a title, subtitle and date, or keep the coordinates line, and choose one of five styles. Blueprint and Noir both suit this water-heavy composition. Order HD files for $9 or a matte printed poster with an optional frame.
