Te mapa
Blangpidie is the administrative centre of Southwest Aceh Regency, on the west coast of Sumatra. The setting is dramatic: the Indian Ocean on one side and the forested Barisan mountains rising not far inland. The town occupies the narrow coastal plain between them, and on a map it appears as a modest street network stretched along the main coastal road.
Around the town, the land is mostly rice fields, plantations and rivers flowing down from the mountains to the sea. The coastline is long and fairly straight, with beaches and river mouths breaking it at intervals. That layout, a thin band of settlement between mountains and ocean, is typical of this part of Aceh.
A Blangpidie map poster captures the town's linear form, the coastal road, the rivers crossing toward the sea and the open ocean edge. It is a spare map with a lot of empty space, which gives it a calm, uncluttered quality in any of the five styles.
The main road runs along the coastal plain, and the town's streets branch from it, giving Blangpidie its long, narrow shape.
The shoreline forms a clean boundary on the map, with the open ocean stretching to the west and southwest.
Small rivers flow down from the mountains across the plain to the sea, crossing the map as winding lines.
