Te mapa
Boiro lies on the northern shore of the Ría de Arousa, on the Barbanza peninsula in the province of A Coruña. The coastline here is deeply indented, with coves, beaches and small headlands, and the town and its parishes spread along it rather than gathering into one centre. Behind the shore, the land rises toward wooded hills.
The Ría de Arousa is known for its mussel farming, and the wooden rafts called bateas sit in rows on the calm water of the estuary. Boiro also has a long past: the Castro de Neixón, an Iron Age hillfort on a small peninsula by the shore, is one of the best-known archaeological sites in the area and has an interpretation centre nearby.
A Boiro map poster captures the long, intricate edge between land and sea. The ría fills much of the frame, the coast breaks into bays and points, and streets and roads follow the shore in a loose, continuous band. It is a map with plenty of movement, and in black and white the coastline becomes its main drawing.
The broad estuary forms the southern side of the map, its calm water scattered with mussel rafts and bordered by an irregular, indented coast.
The Iron Age hillfort sits on a small peninsula by the shore, one of the area's best-known sites and a distinct point along the coastline.
Instead of one compact centre, settlement spreads along the coast in a series of parishes and beaches, linked by roads that follow the water.

Koteā ko Boiro
Boiro is a place of summers by the ría, family houses and seafood by the harbour. A map of it holds all of that, and suits Galicians abroad as much as visitors who return each year.
Set your own title, subtitle and coordinates, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint gives the estuary a deep, clean look, while Paper softens the coastline into something closer to an old chart.
