Te mapa
Bua Yai is a district town in Nakhon Ratchasima province, in the northeastern region of Thailand known as Isan. It lies on the Khorat Plateau, a broad, low upland of rice fields, ponds and scattered villages. From above, the town forms a compact grid of streets, with farmland spreading out in all directions to a flat horizon.
The most distinctive element of the map is the railway. Bua Yai is a junction where a line from the west joins the main northeastern line, and the tracks cross the town in long straight strokes that meet near the station. Around them the streets are laid out in blocks. A Bua Yai map poster shows how the railway gives shape to an otherwise open landscape.
The junction has made Bua Yai a local transport and trading centre for the surrounding districts, drawing farmers and traders from nearby villages. Beyond the town, the land is dotted with reservoirs and paddy fields typical of Isan. It is a practical, working town whose layout clearly reflects the routes that pass through it.
Two rail lines converge at Bua Yai, their straight tracks crossing the map and meeting near the station at the edge of the centre.
Streets in the centre form a regular pattern of blocks, a tidy contrast with the irregular fields and ponds beyond.
Paddy fields and small reservoirs surround the town, adding scattered shapes and wide open space across the edges of the poster.
