Caijiagang is a town in the Beibei district of Chongqing, in the hilly country north of the main urban area. Like much of Chongqing, it is shaped by terrain: ridges, valleys and slopes dictate where roads can run and where buildings can be placed, and the map reflects that constantly.
From above, the older settlement appears as a cluster of streets in a valley, while newer development spreads along wider roads with larger blocks. Between them, terraced fields, small reservoirs and wooded hillsides fill the spaces that remain, producing a varied and detailed pattern.
