Te mapa
Candaba lies in eastern Pampanga in Central Luzon, on the floodplain of the Pampanga River. Much of the surrounding land is low enough to flood every rainy season and dries back into fields in the months that follow. From above, the town appears as a small cluster of streets strung along the roads that cross this broad, flat basin.
The Candaba Swamp, one of the largest freshwater wetlands on Luzon, spreads across the area and changes shape with the seasons. It is well known as a stopping point for migratory waterbirds that arrive in the cooler months, drawing birdwatchers from Manila and beyond. On a map the wetland appears as open space, broken by the lines of dikes, tracks and water channels.
The Pampanga River winds past the town in wide loops, and villages follow its banks and the roads that link them. A Candaba map poster makes a quietly unusual image: a small grid of streets surrounded by open land and water, where empty space matters as much as the lines on the page.

The river winds through the municipality in wide meanders, with settlements along its banks. Its looping course gives the map a strong natural line.
Roads cross the flat basin, linking the town centre with outlying villages. Against the open land they form clear, slender lines that hold the composition together.

Koteā ko Candaba
Candaba is tied to seasons, harvests and water, and for many Kapampangan families it is simply home. A map of the town and its wetland is a calm, unusual piece that keeps that landscape present, whether in a flat in Manila or a house abroad.
Add a title, a family name or a date to the poster, and keep the coordinates line if you like. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The $9 download covers six sizes, or you can order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
