Te mapa
Catacamas sits in the eastern reaches of Olancho, the largest department in Honduras, where wide valleys open between forested ranges. From above, the town is a compact grid of blocks around a central square. At the edges it loosens into long roads, scattered plots and the open pasture that has long defined this cattle-raising region. It is one of the main towns of eastern Honduras.
The surrounding terrain does much of the work on the map. Flat valley land carries the roads outward in straight lines, while the hills to the north and east rise into the ranges that lead toward the Sierra de Agalta. A Catacamas map poster captures that contrast: dense street texture in the centre, then a thinning web of routes heading out into the countryside.
Catacamas is known beyond the region for two things. It is home to the National University of Agriculture, whose campus and teaching farms lie on the outskirts. Nearby are the Talgua caves, where archaeologists recorded ancient ossuaries in the 1990s, which earned them the name Cave of the Glowing Skulls. Both have made the town known well beyond Olancho.
The older blocks form a regular pattern of short, even streets around the main square. It is the densest part of the map and the natural focal point of the composition.
Beyond the centre, long straight roads run across the flat valley floor, and the gaps between them widen as the town gives way to fields and cattle land.
Toward the north and east the ground rises, and the street pattern stops where the slopes begin. This gives the poster a clear boundary between the town and the highland.

Koteā ko Catacamas
For people from Olancho, this map keeps home close: the square, the familiar roads out of town, the place where the valley meets the hills. It also suits anyone who studied at the agricultural university or spent time in eastern Honduras.
You can add your own title, a subtitle such as a family name or a date, and the coordinates line. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The same design comes as HD digital files or as a printed poster.
