Te mapa
Chingola lies in Zambia's Copperbelt Province, close to the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The town was built to serve copper mining, and its map shows this clearly. Residential areas with regular streets and neat blocks sit beside the Nchanga mining area, where open pits and industrial land cover a large part of the surrounding landscape.
The Nchanga open pit is one of the largest open-pit copper mines in the world, and it has shaped the town's economy for decades. On the map, the mine appears as a wide area of irregular shapes and access roads, very different from the planned townships. The Kafue River flows through the region, adding a natural line to the otherwise industrial surroundings.
A Chingola map poster captures a place defined by the relationship between town and mine. The planned residential grid, the main roads leading toward other Copperbelt towns and the large mining areas together form a composition that is both graphic and honest about how the place came to be. For people with ties to the Copperbelt, it is a strong reminder of home.
Large open pits and industrial land lie close to the town, forming broad, irregular shapes that stand out against the regular streets.
Residential areas built for mine workers follow orderly layouts, with straight streets, repeated blocks and open spaces between them.
Main routes leave the town toward other mining centres in the province, linking Chingola into the wider Copperbelt network.

Chingola is a map for people who grew up in the Copperbelt, worked in the mines or have family in the town. It is also a thoughtful gift for Zambians living abroad.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line yourself, for example with a township name or a year you moved there. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
