Te mapa
Cirebon sits on the north coast of Java, in West Java close to the boundary with Central Java, where the flat coastal plain meets the Java Sea. Its map is framed by a long, even shoreline and a harbour with jetties reaching into shallow water, while small rivers run down from the interior and cross the city on their way to the coast.
From the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries the city was the seat of a Muslim sultanate associated with Sunan Gunung Jati, one of the Wali Songo credited with spreading Islam in Java. Two palaces, the Keraton Kasepuhan and the Keraton Kanoman, still stand in the older part of the city, their walled grounds set among the surrounding streets.
Cirebon is known for its batik, especially the cloud-like Megamendung motif, and for its seafood, which earned it the nickname City of Shrimp. Inland, Mount Ciremai, the highest peak in West Java, rises beyond the plain. A Cirebon map poster holds the coastal edge, the port and the dense older quarters in quiet balance.
The port's breakwaters and quays make firm geometric marks on a gently curving coast, a reminder of the sea trade that has passed through Cirebon for centuries.
The keraton compounds of the old sultanates stand within the historic town, their enclosed grounds forming calm, open shapes among the denser streets around them.
On flat ground close to the sea, Cirebon's streets combine older irregular lanes with straighter main roads that run along the coast and lead inland.

Koteā ko Cirebon
Cirebon is a city with a strong sense of identity, from its palaces and batik to its food. For anyone from the city or with family ties to it, a map of its coast and streets is an elegant way to keep that identity visible at home.
Add a personal title, a subtitle with a date or name, and a coordinates line, then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The warmer Paper and Sand styles suit a coastal city with such a long past.
