Te mapa
Ciudad Obregón lies in the Yaqui Valley in southern Sonora, and its map is defined by straight lines. The city is laid out in a regular grid of streets and avenues, and the surrounding farmland is divided into rectangular fields by irrigation canals and farm roads. The result is a checkerboard that continues well beyond the city limits.
Near the edge of the city, Laguna del Náinari provides a patch of open water, with a road and park running around it. Major irrigation canals cross the urban area, drawn as long, straight lines through the grid. The city is named after Álvaro Obregón, the revolutionary general and president of Mexico, who was born in Sonora.
A Ciudad Obregón map poster shows one of the clearest examples of an agricultural grid city. The Yaqui Valley is known as a centre of wheat research, where Norman Borlaug carried out work that contributed to the Green Revolution. From above, the orderly streets and fields reflect that agricultural story.
A regular pattern of streets and avenues covers the city, giving the map a clean, structured look that is easy to read.
Long, straight canals cross the city and the surrounding fields, carrying water that turned the Yaqui Valley into a major farming region.
