Te mapa
Culiacán is the capital of Sinaloa. It was founded in 1531, which makes it one of the older Spanish cities in northwestern Mexico. It stands at the confluence of the Tamazula and Humaya rivers, which join here to form the Culiacán River. On a map this meeting point is the natural centre, with three branches of water in a rough Y shape.
The historic centre sits on the south bank of the Tamazula, close to where the rivers meet, with a cathedral and a regular grid of streets. A parkway and green promenades follow the water, and bridges connect the districts on either side. Newer neighbourhoods and commercial zones spread further out across the flat valley floor.
The land around the city is intensively farmed. Sinaloa is one of Mexico's leading agricultural states, and irrigation canals cross the fields beyond the suburbs. A Culiacán map poster brings this together in a clear composition, with rivers converging at the centre and streets extending outward across the valley.
The Tamazula and Humaya meet in the city to form the Culiacán River. This Y-shaped junction of water becomes the focal point of the poster.
Green strips and promenades follow the riverbanks through town, creating soft, continuous bands between the denser blocks on either side of the water.
Beyond the old centre, broad avenues and residential districts extend across the flat valley. Irrigated farmland begins where the streets thin out.

Koteā ko Culiacán
Culiacán's map is easy to read and quietly striking, thanks to the rivers meeting at its heart. It means a lot to people from Sinaloa who live elsewhere, and to anyone marking a move or a family milestone here.
