Te mapa
Coronado is one of the most recognisable outlines on the California coast. From above it looks like a broad, rounded landmass on the western side of San Diego Bay. The Pacific lies on one side and the calm bay on the other. The narrow Silver Strand runs south from it towards Imperial Beach, which is why Coronado is so often called an island although it is technically connected.
The town fills the eastern half with a tidy grid, cut diagonally by Orange Avenue. Naval Air Station North Island takes up much of the rest. The Hotel del Coronado, opened in 1888, stands on the ocean side. Since 1969 the San Diego–Coronado Bridge has curved across the bay, a tall arc that is hard to miss on any map.
A Coronado map poster brings these parts together: the soft curve of the beach, the ordered residential blocks, the open ground of the air station and the bridge sweeping towards downtown San Diego. There is a lot of water around it, so on paper the peninsula sits in generous white space and reads almost like an emblem.
The San Diego–Coronado Bridge crosses the bay in a long curve. It connects the town with the mainland and gives the poster a strong line on its eastern edge.
A thin strip of sand runs south between ocean and bay. It adds a slender tail to the composition and shows how narrow the link to the mainland is.
Residential streets form a regular grid, crossed by the diagonal line of Orange Avenue. This gives the town centre a clear, geometric structure.

Koteā ko Coronado
People hang Coronado for summers on the beach, weddings at the Del, years spent at North Island, or a first home near the ferry landing. The outline is distinctive enough that anyone who knows it will recognise it at once.
Add a family name, a date or a unit to the title and subtitle, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from five styles, including Blueprint and Sand. HD files cost $9, and a free 900 px preview shows the result first.
