Te mapa
Cortina d'Ampezzo occupies a wide, open basin in the Ampezzo valley, with the Boite river running through its lower part. Streets spread loosely across the slopes above the river, gathering into a denser centre around the pedestrian Corso Italia and the church bell tower. Beyond the last houses, mountain groups such as the Tofane, Cristallo and Sorapiss close the basin in on all sides.
Cortina hosted the Winter Olympics in 1956, the first Winter Games to be televised, and returned as co-host of the 2026 Milan Cortina Games seventy years later. The Dolomites around it were listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009. A former railway line through the valley now serves as a path for cycling and walking.
A Cortina d'Ampezzo map poster shows the basin as a soft, irregular network of roads and hamlets, looser than a city grid and shaped entirely by the slope of the land. The mountain groups are left as open space around the edges, so the town reads as a clearing surrounded by rock.
The pedestrian main street runs through the centre of town past the bell tower of the Basilica of Saints Philip and James, forming the densest part of the map.
The river flows south through the basin toward the Cadore, a thin line below the town that sets the valley's orientation and the course of the main road.
The route of the former narrow-gauge railway curves around the valley slopes, now a path for cycling and walking in summer and cross-country skiing in winter.

Koteā ko Cortina d'Ampezzo
Cortina has drawn visitors for more than a century, and its setting is one of the most recognisable in the Alps. A map poster translates that famous view into something quieter, which appeals to people who want a reminder of the place rather than a picture postcard.
Titles, subtitles and the coordinates line are all editable, so the poster can mark a hotel, a wedding or an Olympic winter. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, and order it as HD files or a matte print.
