Te mapa
Kronplatz, known in Italian as Plan de Corones, rises above the town of Bruneck in the Puster valley of South Tyrol. Its summit is unusually broad and rounded. On a map this shape becomes the organising idea: lifts and runs spread from the top in almost every direction, down to base villages such as Reischach, Olang and St. Vigil.
The summit carries several notable structures. They include the Messner Mountain Museum Corones, designed by Zaha Hadid's studio, the large Concordia 2000 peace bell and a museum of mountain photography. Kronplatz is part of the Dolomiti Superski network and regularly hosts a women's World Cup giant slalom.
A Kronplatz map poster has a pleasing symmetry. The summit sits in the centre with lifts reaching out like spokes, while the Rienz river, the Puster valley railway and the streets of Bruneck trace the northern edge. It is one of the few ski areas whose map reads almost like a diagram.
The broad, flat top of the mountain gathers lift stations, museums and the peace bell into one compact area, which forms the natural centre of the poster.
Gondolas and chairlifts descend from the summit toward villages on all sides. The resulting star-like pattern sets Kronplatz apart from resorts laid out along a single valley.
The old town of Bruneck, the Rienz river and the valley railway run along the northern foot of the mountain, adding dense streets and water to one side of the frame.

Koteā ko Kronplatz
Kronplatz draws regular visitors from Italy, Germany and Austria, many of whom return to the same village each winter. A personalised title and subtitle can name that village or record a year, and the coordinates line can mark the summit.
Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The radial layout looks especially crisp in Blueprint. The digital HD files cost $9 for six sizes, and printed posters come on matte paper with an optional wooden frame.
