Te mapa
Crewe is one of England's best-known railway towns. It grew almost from scratch after the Grand Junction Railway arrived in 1837 and the company built its locomotive works here. The town's form still follows that history. From above, railway lines converge on the station from several directions, and the older terraced streets were laid out for the workers who built and maintained the engines.
The tracks cut the map into sections, and much of the town's street plan fits around them. Queens Park, a Victorian park given to the town by the railway company, forms a large green shape with a lake and curving paths. Crewe is also home to Bentley Motors, whose factory adds another large industrial footprint to the town's edges.
A Crewe map poster is a picture of a junction. Straight rail lines radiate across the sheet and define the whole composition, with terraces and newer housing filling the gaps between them. In Blueprint, it reads almost like an engineering drawing, fitting for a town that was built by engineers.

Tight rows of Victorian terraces near the old works reflect housing built for railway workers, arranged in dense, regular streets.
A large Victorian park with a lake and curving paths forms a soft green shape in contrast to the straight tracks nearby.

Koteā ko Crewe
For railway enthusiasts, former works staff and people who grew up there, Crewe's map says a lot about its identity. The converging tracks make it an especially graphic poster for a hallway or study.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps a family connection to the works, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital files cost $9, and prints are on matte paper.
