Dadhar Map Poster & Print

Dadhar is a town in Balochistan, Pakistan, on the edge of the Kachhi plain. It lies close to the mouth of the Bolan Pass, the historic route through the mountains toward Quetta. For centuries, travellers, traders and armies passed this way. The plain around Dadhar is known as one of the hottest places in South Asia, flat and open, with the mountains rising abruptly to the north-west.

On a map, the town is a compact cluster of lanes and walled compounds, with irrigated fields around it. Roads and the railway to Quetta cross the plain toward the pass. The river beds here are dry for much of the year and show as wide, braided shapes. The contrast between the flat plain and the ridges nearby is one of the strongest features of the area.

A Dadhar map poster is a personal image for families from the town and the Kachhi region. It shows a small place in an important location, where the lowlands meet the mountain route to the west.
