Te mapa
Dayē is a town in the Oromia region of Ethiopia, set in the highlands north-west of Addis Ababa. On a map it appears as a modest settlement strung along its principal road, with side streets branching off to homes, shops and compounds before giving way to cultivated land. The pattern is typical of the Ethiopian plateau, where towns grow along routes rather than around a formal centre.
Farming defines the surroundings. Highland fields of grain and pulses cover the slopes, cut by seasonal streams and footpaths that link scattered homesteads. The town acts as a meeting point where people from the countryside come to trade, travel onward or reach schools and services, and market days bring the busiest moments of the week.
A Dayē map poster captures this in a spare, graphic way. The road becomes a strong spine through the frame, the side streets form a light web around it, and the open land beyond fills the paper with calm space. It is a small map with a clear shape, well suited to minimalist interiors.
The town is organised along its principal road, which crosses the poster as the heaviest line and anchors the smaller lanes that branch away on either side.
Around the built area the map opens into the cultivated highlands of Oromia, where fields, tracks and seasonal watercourses leave faint, irregular marks on the paper.
Shops, services and the market sit close together near the road, so the densest part of the drawing is small and easy to read, with homes spreading outward from it.
