Te mapa
Dhubri sits in the far west of Assam, close to the point where the Brahmaputra leaves India for Bangladesh. From above, the river sets the whole composition. A broad band of water, sandbars and shifting channels runs along the town's southern edge, and the built-up area presses up against it in a dense, irregular network of lanes.
The street pattern is compact and informal rather than planned. Short roads run in from the riverfront, meet a few longer routes heading inland, and then open out into paddy fields, ponds and scattered settlements. On a black-and-white print the contrast is strong: fine, busy linework on one side and open river on the other, with the town clearly tied to the water.
Dhubri has long been a river port, and it is known for its gurdwara associated with Guru Tegh Bahadur, which draws Sikh pilgrims from across the region. A Dhubri map poster shows a place defined by one very large river, and by the small grid of streets that grew up to meet it.
The river runs wide along the southern side of town, full of sandbars and side channels. On paper it becomes a large, calm shape against the fine street network.
Near the water the streets are short, closely packed and irregular. This is the oldest part of the map and holds most of the detail.
Past the town the linework thins out quickly into farmland, small water bodies and village tracks, which gives the composition clear edges.

Koteā ko Dhubri
People hang Dhubri for family roots in lower Assam, for years spent by the Brahmaputra, or simply because a great river meeting a small town makes a strong image. The poster works as a quiet reminder of a particular stretch of water.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, or add a date that matters to you. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The river reads particularly well in the softer Paper and Sand styles.
