Edacchēri lies in Kozhikode district in northern Kerala, between the coast and the foothills of the Western Ghats. Like much of this part of Kerala, it does not have a sharp boundary between town and village. Houses spread across the landscape in a continuous pattern, each set in its own garden of coconut palms and trees.
The map reflects that. There is no dense grid. Instead, roads and lanes branch and wind across gently rolling ground, following ridges and field edges. A main road carries most of the traffic, and small junctions and shop clusters form local centres. Streams and paddy land fill the lower ground between the rises.
