Te mapa
El Menia, known for a long time as El Goléa, is an oasis town in the Algerian Sahara and, since 2019, the capital of its own province. From above, the town is a green island in the desert: a band of palm groves and gardens, streets and houses around them, and wide open ground stretching away on every side.
The oldest part of the settlement is the ksar, a fortified village on a rocky hill that overlooks the oasis. Below it, the town grew outward with newer streets laid out more regularly. Water from underground sources has long made cultivation possible here, and the geometry of irrigated plots shows clearly on the map.
An El Menia map poster emphasises this contrast between concentrated life and empty space. The palm groves, the grid of newer streets and the desert beyond give it a sparse, striking composition, suited to someone who knows the silence of the Sahara.
The historic ksar stands on a hill above the oasis, a compact fortified settlement whose tight outline is visible above the newer town.
Irrigated palm groves and gardens form the green heart of the oasis, appearing on the map as a band of small plots and paths.
Beyond the oasis, the Sahara leaves wide areas of the map almost empty, giving the poster space and a clear sense of isolation.

Koteā ko El Menia
An oasis is the purest example of a map defined by its surroundings, and El Menia's shape makes a calm, spacious print. It suits people from the town and travellers who crossed the Algerian Sahara.
You can write your own title and subtitle, keep or edit the coordinates line, and choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The warm Sand style fits a desert place particularly well.
