Te mapa
El Pao lies in the state of Cojedes, in the plains of north-central Venezuela known as the llanos. From above it is a compact settlement in a wide, flat landscape, its streets arranged in the rectangular pattern common to towns of the region. The built area ends abruptly, and pasture and farmland take over almost as soon as the last blocks end.
The map is shaped by water as much as by streets. The river that shares the town's name and several smaller watercourses cross the surrounding plain. They are marked by lines of trees and by channels that swell in the rainy months. On a black-and-white poster, these meandering lines bring movement to otherwise level, open ground.
At the centre, the grid tightens around a main plaza, as it does in most towns across the region. An El Pao map poster keeps that simple, legible structure, a small grid set in a large landscape, and gives it room on the wall. Fine lines mark the streets, and generous white space stands for the plains around them.
Streets meet at right angles in a tidy rectangular pattern, so the centre of El Pao stays easy to read even at the smallest poster sizes.
The river and its tributaries trace irregular, tree-lined curves across the flat surroundings. They are the most expressive lines in an otherwise level composition.
Beyond the edge of town, roads and tracks run long and straight across the plains, dividing the land into broad ranch and farm parcels.

Koteā ko El Pao
For people from El Pao living in Caracas, Valencia or abroad, a map of the town keeps the street where they grew up in view. Its clear grid and open surroundings make a restrained, graphic piece that fits almost any room.
