Te mapa
Electronic City Phase I lies on the southern edge of Bengaluru, beside Hosur Road. From above it looks nothing like the old city: instead of dense lanes, the map shows large rectangular campuses with internal roads, landscaped grounds and car parks, set along a few wide avenues. Residential layouts and older villages press in around the industrial area on every side.
The industrial estate was established in the late 1970s by the Karnataka state electronics corporation and became one of India's best-known IT hubs. Infosys has its headquarters here on a large campus, alongside many other technology companies. An elevated expressway above Hosur Road links the area with central Bengaluru, and a metro line now serves it as well.
An Electronic City Phase I map poster is a portrait of a working landscape. The large blocks of the campuses read as bold shapes against the fine texture of the housing around them, which gives the print a strong contrast and a clear sense of how the district was planned.
Technology campuses occupy large enclosed plots with their own internal road loops, forming the biggest and most regular shapes anywhere in the district.
The main highway runs along the edge of the area with an elevated road above it, a long straight double line leading north towards central Bengaluru.
Around the estate, residential layouts and former village cores form a much denser and more irregular pattern that frames the planned industrial grid.
