Te mapa
Erode lies in western Tamil Nadu on the western bank of the Kaveri. The river forms the city's eastern edge and separates it from the neighbouring town of Pallipalayam. The land around it is flat and agricultural, crossed by irrigation channels, and the city has grown outward from an older core into a wide ring of residential and industrial neighbourhoods.
Erode is one of India's main trading centres for turmeric and handloom textiles, and markets for both shape the busy streets of the centre. Erode Junction is an important stop on the region's railways, and national highways link the city to Salem, Coimbatore and the Bhavani valley. The Kalingarayan Canal, dug in the thirteenth century, runs through the district alongside the river.
An Erode map poster shows a practical, working city: a tight network of market lanes near the centre, roads leading out in every direction, rail lines and the broad, braided course of the Kaveri to the east. It is an honest portrait of a place built on trade, and the river gives it a strong natural boundary.
The river runs along the city's eastern edge as a wide channel with sandbanks and bridges, the clearest natural boundary on the map.
The older core packs narrow streets and dense blocks around the main bazaars, a fine-grained pattern that contrasts with the looser layout of newer districts.
Several lines meet at Erode Junction, one of the busier rail hubs in Tamil Nadu, and their long, curving tracks run across the city's outskirts.

Koteā ko Erode
Erode is home to trading families, weavers and engineers who often move to Chennai, Bengaluru or overseas while staying tied to the city. A map of the streets where they grew up makes a thoughtful gift, and its simple lines sit well in a modern home.
Personalise the title with a family name or business, add a date or a street in the subtitle, and edit the coordinates. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and download the HD files or order a printed poster with an optional frame.
